Life with MND
My MND Journey in Poetry
By Jaki Jackson
A collection of poems, written entirely through the use of eye-tracking software, that explore the daily challenges of living with Motor Neurone Disease.
These poems have allowed me to share my experiences, thoughts, and feelings through verse; trying to find hope and something to smile about each day, despite the brutal challenges of this cruel condition.

How My Poetry Journey Began
I originally wrote my first poem, BRUTAL, in mid 2024. It was well received and marked the beginning of my journey into poetry as a means of expression. Brutal went on to be used in two match day Rugby programmes. To find out more about this, see my page on raising awareness.

More About Jaki
My MND journey began in October 2021 when I noticed my handwriting was getting really messy. Fast forward to 25 August 2022 when I was officially diagnosed, and having just got married in December 2021, my hopes and dreams were shattered and my world fell apart.
These poems are windows into my daily experiences, challenges, and moments of frustration having to deal with and adapt to my condition. I hope they can provide insight, comfort, and connection to others on similar paths. I have relied on eye-tracking software to create these, which has allowed me to continue expressing myself despite the harsh physical limitations of MND.
